Ihave a x64 2003 machine that is having a problem with the E1000 network vnic. when I switch it to enhanced vmxnet then it works. any idea?
I forgot to mention that DHCP works for E1000 but not static IP. When I switch it to vmxnet, then both static and dhcp works
Did you try to verify the version of the vmtools you have on the VM?

I have a x64 machine with the E1000 vnic and switched to the enhanced vmxnet and it stopped working. Had to swtich back to E1000.It was static IP also. Not sure what is up with this.

ok now even with a 32bit os 2003 vm, I am having problem with dhcp connectivity using flexible adapter.
The version of vmware tools is the same as that of the esx host u3 123630
