Vmware's documentation (esx3_partition_align.pdf) says to align to 32K and Lefthand documentation says to align to 64K (on guest OS's). I assume to go with the storage vendor for "best practice", so I'm going with 64K on the SAN storage volumes mounted in my guest OS's.
Now...when I then format the volume, am I suppose to explicitly set the "Allocation unit size" to 64K or leave it on Default?
Has anyone had performance issues or improvements using the different alignments (specific with LH's NSM models)?
