Disabling Memory Overcommitment?

HI @all!

I'm aware that in most cases that wouldn't make sense and I'm just intereseted in it. Is there a way to globally disable memory overcommitment on an ESX Server? Of course you could reserve memory for all VMs and therefore avoid overcommitment, but is there a way to disable it completly?

Kind Regards,

Gerrit Lehr

Sertting Reservations to the memory assigned to the VM is the only way to not overcommit - but remeber two thing this will serious limit the denisity of the VMs ib your ESX server - I have never seen a sirution

As far as I know, setting a reservation on each vm is the only way.
