Disable network boot in a VM

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to disable network boot in a virtual machine? All of our virtual machines are running on ESX 3.0.2, and I have tried changing the settings in the virtual machine's BIOS, and although it says '<Shift + 1> enables or disables a device' it doesnt actually do anything. Is there any other way to disable it?

Just tried this on a v3.5 vm as a test, and experienced the same problem. I could move network boot up and down in the list, but not disable it (tried a few different key combinations)

I suggest opening a call with VMware

Cheers

When we are talking about network boot I must say that it seems the Vmxnet card doesnt support PXE-boot. At least it fails trying while the E1000 options works in the same Virtual machine.

Hello

I have the same problem. I must deactivate the PXE boot, how can i do this. In the BIOS setup scren (F2) i can only put it on the end of the list. But after all the machines try to boot if no bootable device in the other sections are found.
