Different NIC readings

Guys,

The first virtual machine I created, my NIC has VMware Accelerate AMD PCNet Adapter with a 1.0 gps connection

The second virtual machine I created shows 2 NICs as 10 mps with a different name AMD PcNet Family PCI Ethernet Adapter. The only difference when I created this machine, I added the 2nd Nics under "Edit the virtual machine setting before submitting"

Any ideas? I don't seem to be able to change the speed.

Tnt

Once you have installed VMware Tools the NIC should display with a speed at 1 Gbps. Despite showing a 10 Mbps connection speed, the NIC will still run at the speed of the hosts physical NIC.

Do you have the Vmtools installed and rebooted?

in order to get 1gbps, you may need to have vmtools installed and compile correctly
