Default memory, hard disk, guest OS settings

Can anyone tell me if and where the default settings for new VMs is documented? I'm using the powershell toolkit to perform some tests and I've found that a new VM created with the bare minimum of parameters results in a VM with 256MB, 4GB disk, a NIC card and a few other tidbits. I'd like to know how those settings were determined. Anybody know?

Hello,

They were provided as part of the tools to create VMs. So in essence they were determined by VMware as the minimal system to create if you choose all the defaults.

Ok, so I think you are saying it depends on the Guest OS type? That's helpful, but still does not tell me what those values are. Any idea?

Hello,

Unfortunately no. I have not seen such a document. Most people want more than the minimums.
