Cloning citrix servers and Great Plains SQL 2000 login

I have 4 citrix servers (ESX 3.0.1 35804) that were cloned from a single source. These servers performed flawlessly for months until I upgraded our accounting application Microsoft's Great Plains. The Great Plains SQL 2000 server now rejects the Citrix server GP client login request (This login failed. Attempt to log in again or contact your system administrator). The only password that works on the citrix server is the unencrypted sa password. All users passwords work on the SQL server and their local workstation installation. I tried reinstalling the application and recreating the ODBC connection with a new name.

SQL Log error

SWSTATUS DUMP*/

I read a MS thread that the version of GP we upgraded to uses stronger encryption (9.0 from 7.5). Is it possible that the process of cloning created a problem with encrypting and decrypting SQL passwords?

I hope this all makes sense. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
