Clearspace on Linux under ESX3.5u1

Is anyone running Clearspace under ESX? We have a pilot running where we have seen performance issues - lots of paging within the guest VM. My understanding is that setting a memory reservation should help with this. My belief is that the balloon driver is not able to give the memory back to the guest VM quickly enough when a number of users connect to Clearspace at the same time, is that likely. Clearspace seems to be heavily Java dependant, pointing to memory again.

Other peoples experiences would be useful to hear.

Regards,

Andy

We had a Clearspace techical representative in and he said that Clearspace isn't supported as an application running on a server under VMware. It doesn't say that it is or isn't supported on their web site. The underlying reason for this is because it uses Oracle Coherence, some sort of caching mechanism.

Does anyone have any information on these matters?

Andy
