Cannot Install OS from CD-Rom

We are trying to create a new VM (Netware6.5) for testing. When we power up it goes to the network boot, and we ESC out of it, but it does nto see the CD-rom we configured in the edit settings.

Any ideas or suggestions??

Are you sure the CD you are using is bootable? Have you tried it in a physical server to verify this.

First off, did you configure the CD as connected? You can select a CD and if you don't check "connected" it won't be available

Second, you need to tell the VM to boot from CD. The easiest way it to access the boot menu by click ESC right after POST. this happens pretty quick so you have to make sure to click on the console window so it has your keyboard focus and then hit ESC a couple of time right away. It often takes a few tries!

Also are you using Client CD-ROM you need to click the Virutal CD-ROM button in remote console to connect your device first.

We had the CD drive set to conenct, and we are placing the CD on the Server box. We did try a client as well. we tried accessing the Bios and check to see if the cd-rom was selected, but it would not select.

Have you tried hitting ESC at the VMware BIOS screen to select your boot device or are you doing this but it will not read the CD-ROM. I find it easiest to power on the VM, open a console window, then hit the Restart button and then quickly click into the console window to give it focus when the VMware logo displays and then hit ESC to bring up the boot menu.

You can use .iso files as long as they are bootable, you just have to map the CD to the iso file.
