Unable to install tools on a Windows 2000 SP4 VM.
I have tried from both the GUI and the command line.
Any thoughts??
Thanks in advance.
Ow there isn't a link for the workaround, found out myself.
1. Start XP machine (or 2003 or whatever)
2. Select Install VMWare tools
3. In the VM cancel the installation
4. Go to My Computer and to your cddrive.
5 Copy all the data form te cddrive to a folder on you desktop.
6 Transport the data form your XP machine to your w2k machine
7 Run the setup.
This should do the job
The ISO isn't mounted in the OS when you choose Install VMware Tools ?
I had the same problem, no solution yet, but a workaround. Start tools install in a XP machine, copy data (it moun't an iso to your cd drive) en run the data on your w2k machine
The error I am getting is: A general system error occurred: Internal error
Would you have a link to a detailed walkthrough of that workaround??
