Blue screen at booting XP SP3 Portuguese in VMPlayer, after conversion with VMware Converter Standalone client

Hello.

I have a old computer with XP with SP3 Portuguese, that need an upgrade but have some important information. I use the VMware Converter Standalone client 4.3.0 build 292238 to convert the local machine to a new virtual machine (twice).

When I try to run the VM with VMware Player, I always get a blue screen of dead with or without safe mode, after loading the SPTD.sys driver. I only convert the system disk and i expand the memory of the VM from 512 Mb to 2 Gb. I send in attach the hardware list of the local machine (hardware.xps), several logs of VMware Player and the machine configuration (vmx)

Thanks in advance,

Pedro Polónia

Have you posted this somewhere else too ?

I guess so as it sounds so familar ...

Anyway - when using converter 4.3 against XP you MUST change the controller.

Keep existing, IDE or LSILOGIC will not work.

You must order a BUSLOGIC scsi-controller - every other option WILL FAIL.

Or easier - use Converter 3.0.3 - as that version does NOT misconfigure the p2v-task
