Does anyone know what's the best practice for NW65 datavolumes, VMFS volumes or RDM volumes?
RDM let's me expand a volume using SAN functionality (got an EVA 4100 SAN). When I use VMFS I can just add new VMFS disk to NSS pool and expand.
Is there other consideration I should make?
In this case, best practice depends on your needs and your environment. We always just setup ours as VMDK files.
I would prefer vmdk (not rdm) - and for sys create a separate vmdk (e.g. 4-8 GB on size). This way you can clone your vm and have independent vol sys.
Don't forget the right nic - the best is the AMD choice.
Thanks:)
I'll go for the vmfs, and seperate vmdk for sys volum. I'll use NSS to expand my Data pool if nessecary, just adding vmdk disks.
