Hi,
Is there a way of automating the VMware tools install ? I have upgraded to 3.5 and now have 140 VM's to upgrade, is there a scripted/GUI way of doing this ?
I have searched on these forums but couldn't see anything definitive.
It seems silly that one of the new features in 3.5 is the update manager, surley that could put the VM tools upgrade in this ?
Thanks for any advice you guys can give.
if you have a bunch of Windows VM's you can do it via GPO
you can do a couple things:
1. try this tool
2. You could click on your Hosts&Clusters view, then on the right side pane, hightlight all the VM's you want to upgrade tools on, right click and choose install/upgrade tools.

Hi,
thanks for the reply, that tool looks cool. But what I am really after is the ability to schedule the vmtools install.
Thanks
