Any issues with Java based apps running in VMs under VI3??

I'm looking to encourage some of my colleagues to start using ESX VM's instead of physical boxes in there environment but they seem to believe that there will be an issue with the application services that they are responsible for. These are mainly Ebiz related apps with Web Services and N-tier apps deployed across multiple platforms. These apps make extensive use of Java and I've been told that the software vendors are recommending not to deploy in VM's unless on the newer proicessor families with ESS etc.incorporated. The main apps platforms are WebSphere and an LMS app called SABA Enetrprise. Does anyone have any experiences or tips to share on trying to run these in an ESX VI3 Guest?

Thanks!

David

Websphere on VM is OK. Done it here for 4 years, although we recently got rid of Webshpere due to costs and IBM's idiotic licensing policy.

Nearly every VM we run has a java app on it. Works fine.
