Hey Everyone,

My linux skills are lacking at the moement and need some help. I have added a raw lun to our VM running redhat ES 4. However, I dont know how to initialize the disk and mount it permanently. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,

When you saw added a raw LUN? Do you mean allocated via SAN to the vm directly? Or you created an RDM?

If your server can see the disk (run 'fdisk -l') to see if the disk is seen to the vm. If it is, run fdisk /dev/<diskname>, and create a partition on it. Once you create a partition, you format the space, mkfs /dev/<diskname>, and then you can mount that new filesystem under your /
