Add flash drive as virtual hardware for a VM

Is it possible to connect my flash drive to a virtual machine?  For example, I open vsphere client on my laptop, connect to my vcenter server, edit the properties of a virtual machine that runs on an ESXi host elsewhere in the datacenter, and allow the VM to access the flash drive that is plugged into my laptop so that the OS inside the VM sees my flash drive as local storage?

Thanks

You can do this with VMware View using USB redirection.

OK thanks.  I'm not using View though.  Just ESXi 5.1
