Add NE 2000 driver for the Windows 2003 R2 box

Guys, what do I need to do to make Windows 2003 R2 to work with NE 2000 drivers?

For some readon, the AMD driver is not working on the windows 2003 box.

Any suggestions are most welcome

Thanks

Do you have vmware tools installed? You will need to make sure vmware tools is installed to make sure so that the approriate driver is load to use a virtual NIC other than vlance - which is recognized as an AMD PCNET 32 bit ethernet controller by a plug and play O/S like windows 2003 - once it is installed the virtual NIC will morph to FLex Network which is a high performance virtual NIC the only other option I believe is a virtualized Intel e1000 card and this is done by modifying the VMX file for the VM -

The flexible NIC type will not work with Windows x64. Changing the NIC to e1000, and you should be good to go.
