I typically use Acronis Disk Director to extend my disks within the Windows quest after using vmkfstools to extend the file.
I am trying to extend the D drive. I have 10free gigs of space on the same device when I try to extend it (like have many times in the past) I get a error:
Error occurred while completing the pending operations
Not Enough Memory
I have this happening on two different consecutive machines. I am afraid to try and extend any other machines because I might get the same error.
Is anyone else seeing this error? I think it started after the 3.0.2 upgrade and after the newer vmware tools were installed.
I haven't tried Acronis to do this...
Have you tried a Gparted LiveCD? http://gparted.sourceforge.net/
For a non system disk in Windows I use diskpart at the command line. It is available in Windows 2003, and XP, but must be downloaded for Windows 2000.
For a system disk you can use a linux/gparted live CD like Jase suggests or a Bart PE disk. I like the Ultimate P2V disk that is hosted on Mike Laverick's RTFM-Education site (it's also in the User Solutions forum here)
