Access vmdf files

I have a ESX 3.5 host installed with 2 VMs running. One of the VM has windows as guest OS and the other a version of linux. Is there a way to mount the vmdk file of VM1 into VM2 either through a utility or programmatically?? I was trying to use vmware-mount.pl but could not succeed. Any ideas as to how to proceed??

You could add a new virtual hard disk to your VM2 (--> Edit settings) using this existing VMDK-file of VM1.

Where are you trying to mount it and for what purpose? If the vm's are up, then you can't do that without using snapshots, or something of that sort. If you're trying to access the files from witihin one vm to the other, then either use CIFS to share from one VM, or samba/nfs on the other. CIFS and samba work well together, and you should be able to share files back and forth from within the vm, without risking corrupting files by accessing the vm's directly.

Finally solved. vmware-mount does the trick
