vmware-mount behaviour

Hi

I have tried vmware-mount in three different systems. and I trace its behaviour.

1. tried mounting a vmdk of size 20 Gb in my system ..(my system having a free space of 30 GB) => "unable to get vim ticket" {failed to get the key for virtual disk}

2. tried mounting the same vmdk with same command as given in my system in another system (which is a VM having a free space of 23 Gb) => mounted successfully. then I unmounted it.

3. tried mounting the same vmdk with same command as given in my system in

another system (which is a VM having a free space of 6 Gb) => ."unable to get vim ticket" {failed to get the key for virtual disk}

Is mounting a vmdk requires enough space on the Host system's hard disk??

if so y dint it get mounted in the first case ?

is that space should be continuous ?

if not what is the reason for that undefined behaviour. ? please clarify me.

Thanks

No copy is made during vmware-mount operation so there is no space requirement based on the size of the disk/volume. Are the machines connected to the esx in the same way? Perhaps logs would be helpful in diagnosing.
