root privileges for kde 3.5 under Suse10

I am running KDE 3.5 under SuSe10 and using VMware Player. To do some major changes, like downloading updates, I am asked a password for "root privileges". I never set up that password and by default I am logged in as "guest". Does someone has an answer for me? Thanks

Try "toor", without the quote marks of course...
