I am running "KDE 3.5 on SUSE Linux 10" .

I need to install additional software on it and have been requested for the root password .

Thanks

Taken from the website where you download the image...

"The password for the "guest" user is "guest", for the "root" administrator is the password "toor"."

Reading is a good thing! Smiley Wink

To be fair, our new appliance layout has a big space for username and password but most appliances don't have them filled in yet. So if someone isn't familiar with the old system (where all the info was on the destination page), it looks like that info isn't known.

So while I agree that reading is a good thing, I hope the new fields in our directory over time will make reading not necessary!

John,

That's true - I have seen the placeholders for the user/password entries on the VMTN pages. However, all of the questions about these lately are on the very same page which they have to go to in order to download the file!!! Personally, I read a web page looking for instructions/information before I download a file. Maybe I'm rare? Smiley Happy
