VMDK is in directory but VI doesn't think it's compatible?

I downloaded the Centreon appliance (www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/1002) and extracted the rar file to my datastore, but when I browse to the folder in VI it does not see any "Compatible Virtual Disks". How do I check if a VMDK file is compatible with my version of ESX?

You will most likely need to run vmkfstools to import the disk to a format that ESX will understand
