Unfortunately due to a lack of time and resources in actual hardware, the project hasn't been able to progress nearly like I had originally intended. I feel that the hylafax world combined with the newer out-of-the-box linux distro's can easily replace the functionality I had here. The main concept still holds through though, using VMware on a windows host and map out your cheap winmodems' com ports back to the linux VM.
