SSL VPN and multi-factor authentication
While my issue is specific to the Portwise appliance, it would seem to apply to many of the appliances listed. Please spell out clearly in the description that the appliance is an evaluation with limited use rights or features. Specific information, like duration of the eval license is of key importance along with whether the VM is timebombed, limited functionality, or otherwise limited in any way. As a general rule, I have no interest in downloading limited time, or time-bombed copies of anything. The only way I found out that this particular appliance is an evaluation copy was by visiting the vendors web-site. I still do not know what limitations it may have without downloading it. This is not acceptable. Please document the appliances better.
David.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the confusion.
Our new layout does have a "License" field that can be filled in. Over time, that field will contain either the open source license or an overview of the commercial license -- "30 day evalution" or the like.
The version of PortWise is the full version. Only limited to what you have in the license file.
Am I blind ??? Where can I find Password(s) for this VM Appliance??
Thanks in advance
I had request a licensefile twice (direct from portwise.com) but dont receive any answer.
Even any answer on my email to the support (marketing@portwise.com).
This is from the README file:

Great to see that you have shown interest in PortWise latest release preinstalled on RedHat EL 3.0 for WMware.
All passwords are set to "PortWise", remember that it is case sensitive.
Just connect to the servers IP address and you are up running. We have left the installation so that you can register RedHAT. It is not needed for PortWise to work.
You might need to change the memory. Do this in this file "Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.vmx".
The parameter that you look for is:
memsize = "512"
OS:
root / PortWise
PortWise Web Admin:
portwise / PortWise
OpenLDAP:
cn=manager,dc=my-domain,dc=com / PortWise

The license is locked on what you type in the browser for accessing the server.
-> 192.168.0.34 must be in the license file.
-> *.company.com or vpn.company.com must be in the license file

Johan

I am having problem with X windows startup, so I cannot enter the licence file.
I am using 19" LCD monitor of Compq model TFT8020
Please help..... thanks in advance
That is no problem as long you know the IP address of the server.
1. Start a browser to:
https:// "License". You find the "Upload New License" in the bottom. Select the new license file and upload it.
5. Then press "Publish", top right corner.
Johan
Thanks Johan, appreciated... why this is not mentioned anyware on the website.
Also Portwise manual can be published in the website also.
Thanks again.
