Appliances - Safe to use without security/privacy concern ?

Just a concern I have about Appliances like OS:

Should I be concerned about the "integrity/purity" of the virt-machine ?

I mean - How does VMWare/VMTN ensure that the virt-machines people offer, via the Marketplace, for download

is not tempered with some sort of spyware/sniffer ???

That one can use w/o worry as if it is self-created.

Having said that, I find it amazing that X-(vendors like Linux distros STILL don't offer virt-machines as download options. :smileyangry:
