hi,

I have following Problem: windows server 2019 reboot after hot-adding cpu in vSphere 6.7

has anybody same Problem?

in my case was on a specific installation with:

• HPE server, but the server it’s fine and in HCL
• Windows Server 2019  in GUI mode
• Windows installed in BIOS mode or EFI mode
• VMware vSphere 6.7U1 (also 6.5)
• Latest VMware Tools
• Virtual hardware 14

Is there anybody who is using Windows Server 2019 and can without problems make hot-adding of vCPUs ?

So it looks to be a Windows problem that they are working to resolve.

there where same Problem last year with Server 2016, but after installing the Microsoft Patch this problem was resolved.

Our Windows Server 2019 is patched 100% and we have still this Problem.

Looks like the issue has been resolved with this patch: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/ScopedViewInline.aspx?updateid=a7738ed8-a5f9-41e4-b968-af38...

I applied the 2019-02 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 update and after that I can happily hot-plug addtional vCPU without issues. There is nothing that I can see in the release notes about this resolving this issue however let us know if this works for you.

Has this problem resurface again in September 2020?

I am having the same issue. I add a vCPU and the server does BSOD! Anyone else seeing this?
