what is best practice for assign disk to vm for install oracle single instance.

I want to install oracle single instance but usa as ASM would you please say your experience and suggest how assign disks to VM use RDM or vmfs ? actually i was read many doc such as this but all of them are about oracle rac installation not single instance:
