Hi, I'm having troubles with my connection from vsphere client desktop to my vcenter server, i can access to the vsphere web client but when i tried to access from the client of the desktop i get the message that iI don't have the permissions to log into the server, I've tried to look on the permissions from the web client but I can't find anything, any ideas?
What version of vSphere?
As of vSphere 6.5, VMware is discontinuing the installable desktop vSphere Client, one of the clients provided in vSphere 6.0 and earlier. vSphere 6.5 does not support this client and it is not included in the product download. vSphere 6.5 introduces the new HTML5-based vSphere Client, which ships with vCenter Server alongside the vSphere Web Client. Not all functionality in the vSphere Web Client has been implemented for the vSphere Client in the vSphere 6.5 release.
My version of Vsphere is 6.0.0 build 5112508and Vcenter 6.0.0 30500.
Do you have one workstation that has network access to vCenter? If not one, then install the client on the second computer and try to connect. Either reinstall the current client.
I have network access to vCenter, and I tried in a second , even a third PC to make the connection, I still get the same message, I've also tried with different versions of the Client, I still get the same message.
Try restarting vCenter
Ok, I will...
It doesn't work yet, i get the same after the restart
Please check whether you have the latest available vSphere Client version installed (currently v6.0 Build 5112508).

I saw at you on a screenshot of the user root. This login is usually used to access ESXi but not vCenter. Let's understand in this direction.
yeah, when I install the vCenter I did it with a root user, and I can access to the web client with this user, and to the server itself.
I've checked the version is the same that you're referring to.
If you are attempting to login to vCenter Server Appliance, you cannot login using the root user as this does not have permissions to vCenter (the application stack). You need to be using the SSO Administrator account, usually Administrator@vsphere.local.
If you have on this screenshot exactly vCenter and not ESXi then try root@localos ...
In addition, you can think about upgrading to VMware vCenter Server 6.0 U3e. Or even up to 6.5.
thanks that was the problem the user root doesn't have as much permissions as administrator , thanks for the help.
