vmware remote console doesnot start under firefox

Hi guys!

I have a problem: VMware remote console doesn't start under Mozilla firefox ver.80 and later. It happened after the last firefox update. When I need to start remote console, I press the mouse button, and only blank page opens.  Also, the remote console doesn't work only from the vSphere web client, but if I logged directly on the ESXI host, all work properly.

Now I must use Google Chrome for working with my virtual machines, but Chrome will stop support Flash after December 2020.

Maybe somebody knows what I need to do for resolving this issue?

Thanks,

hey, hope you are doing fine

Which version of vSphere are you using?

vSphere 6.5 and onwards have a HTML5 client, have you tried using that?

Hope that works

Thank you for the fast answer!

It works if using HTML version of vsphere client.

But does it mean that I lost the possibility of using Flash vsphere client version? Of course, maybe this question I need to aks on Firefox's forum Smiley Happy

You have 3 months left I believe of browsers supporting flash... I wouldn't even bother and just get used to using html5 one

Adobe Flash Player End of Life

I suggest only using flash for things that you have no other choice, and if you have some of those, find another choice.

Actually flash client is deprecated.
In newer versions like vSphere 7 it doesn't exist anymore

I see all the replies and think that this question is named and Tagged wrong.

What does the Remote console have to do with the Web console?

Flash or HTML5 makes no difference.

The VMWare Remote Console is a seperat application you install on your PC or other and can launch your VM's.

If this is about the Web console, I think the question should be renamed and retaget.

I can't get the Remote Console to launch no matter what browser I'm using. Latest version of ESXI and latest version of VMRC installed.

It' works perfectly fine on my laptop, but on my desktop I can't get it to launch, nothing happens when I select it.

Chrome dosent even come up with the warning that the website is trying to launch an external application.

regards,

Jonas
