vmware lacp

Hi,

My system provider connected 3 ethernet ports of  1 GBits to our allied telesis network switch.

I can't find any commands in the telesis switch concerning LACP.

There is a vrtual switch configured with the 3 ethernet nics

Question: are the vm's now connected with 3Gbits or only with 1 Gbit?

Is there default load balancing?

thanks

Don't know anything about a telesis switch and this isn't the place for issues with it. LACP in vSphere has specific requirements and there are lots of articles you should read to come up to speed. One of those is a vDS. Aside from this, LACP in vSphere is generally not recommended unless you have very specific needs that aren't met with a vDS.

Hello,

To do LACP configuration you Need to be in DVS Distributed VSwitch

And to be uin DVS you must have licence Entreprise on Vsphere.

It is ?

Enterprise Plus, and you're basically reiterating exactly what I said.

I shall refrase my question.

What is the easiest way to have more network throughput out of a vsphere 6 essentials plus?

besides upgrading from 1Gbps network to 10Gbps..... Smiley Happy

thanks

A static LAG is your only option, but even then you may not necessarily get more network throughput. You need to understand how that works from a networking perspective. People often think it's going to give them a wider pipe when, in fact, most times it does not.

I know.... its not by combining 3 ethernet nic's of 1Gbps that you have 3Gbps.

But 3 people can download/upload  at 1Gbps while not interfering with each other.

Do i have to configure anything for this LAC to happen, or is it default?
