Hi folks,
Just looking for some feedback for a project coming up. Folks here are setting up the first SQL cluster in our environment and will need shared storage. We will provide that with an iSCSI LUN from our Nimble Storage array (to Windows Server 2k12R2 iSCSI initator). We plan to use Nimble volume replication for the shared iSCSI LUNs used for SQL.
Curious what best practice would be for the SQL server VMs regarding DR, SRM, and or replication.
- Combination of vSphere replication (for VMs) and array based?
- Put all VMs and shared storage in one location and use Array based replication only?
