I'm currently working on a plugin for vSphere, meant to be compatible with both versions 6.7 and a form of 6.5, likely 6.5U1. I'd like to certify it once under the 6.7 certification program, and indicate backwards compatibility with 6.5U1. Would this imply that the plugin is also certified for 6.5U1? This seems possible to me, as there are a number of documents showing how to maintain backwards compatibility with versions of 6.5.
I know that some other certification programs offer forwards certification, namely certifying for one version implies certification for future versions. I'm not sure how this applies to the vSphere Plugin certifications though.
Thus, my question boils down to:
What SDK should I make my plugin under?
What version of the certification program should I plan for?
Would this include certification for both versions, assuming the single plugin works correctly on both versions?
