Can you provide a beginners guide into vSphere licensing. For example, is it as simple as 1x ESXi licence per host, and 1 licence per vCenter Server installation, or is it more complicated than that, and depends on the number of VM’s you will be running on your vSphere infrastructure, or the host hardware itself etc?
And can you give broad costs for each vSphere ‘component’ per individual licence as a rough guide? Plus any perpetual/ongoing licence/software maintenance costs that would be required when implementing a vSphere investment?
