vSphere Licensing

I'm in the process of creating a vSphere  lab environment at home (using physical equipment).

My boss very kind enough to give me a license key. The key is only good for version 6.0.

My question is do I need 2 different keys 1 for ESXI Host and 1 for vCenter Server?

I'm asking because after I got the vSphere up and running, I am being notified that the vSphere Server only has 60 days in evaluation mode. The ESXI Host is fine and the key that was given to me by mt boss worked, but not for vCenter Server.

Do I need another key for vCenter Server?

Thanks,

Yes, those are two separate keys.

ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and solutions have different licensing models.

and yes there different keys and it depends upon your license type you buy from vmware.
