vSphere ESXI 6.5 - best SCSI Controller for Domain Controllers

Hi

I am planning on creating some new Domain Controllers (2016) on our ESXI 6.5 environment.

Could someone tell the best SCSI  controller to use for this task?

Thanks

Michael

The default "LSI Logic SAS" one, because a DC doesnt produce such a load and you dont see the benefitz of the VMware Paravirtual.

Please keep one thing in mind that when ever you will uninstall  the VMware tools you also uninstall the SCSI Driver and your VM will not boot again if your vDisk1 (c:) is used with the VMware Paravirtual controller. For sure that can be fixed by reverting the vDisk back to a LSI Logic SAS but you dont wanna play this game with your DC for sure.

Joerg

Having built several DCs I have never needed to change the SCSI adapter away from the default. I would change it to the Paravirtual Adapter if I was doing a DB Server or Mail Server.
