vSphere Data Protection 6.1.8 VM Restore Process

Hi,

I am experiencing a very strange issue, maybe its not an issue and someone can shine some light on this for me. I am running ESXi 6.5.

I am creating a backup job in VDP 6.1.8 of a VM with two VMDKs. Hard disk 1 (OS) and Hard disk 2 (Data). VM is called TEST.

Job details below:

1. Job Type: Guest Images.

2. Data Type: Individual Disks

3. Backup sources: I select only Hard disk 1 of the VM mentioned above.

4. Schedule Daily

5. Retention: keep for one day.

I then run the backup job. I then restore only this one Hard disk, that I backed up, to a new location and VM called TEST_1.

For some reason once the restore is done, this new VM has two Hard disks connected to it again. One drive is blank, as I didn't back it up but the restore process actually goes and creates all the drives that the original VM had connected.

Why is this?
