vSphere 7, ESXI 7

Hi to all,

I have the following problem

I have two ESXi Hypervisor (free license)

Client version: 1.34.8
Client build number: 17417756
ESXi version: 7.0.2
ESXi build number: 17867351

I'm evaluating  the vSphere Server: vSphere Client version 7.0.3.00700

When I try to add an ESXi I obtain the following error message:

License not available to perform the operation. The vSphere 7 Hypervisor license for "Host" 192.168.2.237 does not include "vCenter agent for VMware host". Upgrade the license.

Anyone can help me? Thanks

You can't add "Free ESXi" to a vCenter Server instance. That is the big limitation you have with free esxi.

So you basically have to remove the free esxi license if you want to add it to vCenter.

Ok, how can I test my evaluation vSphere?

On my ESXi I have some virtual machine runnings, is possible to upgrade te esxi license only for the vsphere evaluation period?

you remove the licenses, and use the eval license for both ESXi and vCSA
