vSpere client free vs web interface

Hi.

I'm returned on an ESXi server installation after many years...

My Last installation was 5.5

In the past I've always used a vSphere client (free) to manage my ESXi server and my VMs.

Now, ESXi 6.5 - connecting via web browser to the server I've noted that the there is a web appliance that seems to act  like the (old) vSphere client.

The questions are:

  • May I use the web appliance (like the vSphere client) to create and manage my VMs?
  • Is better to use vSphere client ?
  • And if yes, is available too a vSphere client free version ? (and from where may I download it?)

Thanks in advance

You can read this kb VMware Knowledge Base

There is 2 Web Client ... One vSphere Client (HTML5) and one vSphere Web Client 6.5 (like old web client in older version of vSphere) ...
in the KB you can read :

Will the Legacy C# Client still be available at all?

The Legacy C# Client will still be available with vSphere 6.0 and earlier versions that are not End of Life. For example, the Legacy C# Client will still be available and continue to work with vSphere 5.5 and 6.0. Starting vSphere 6.5 and later, the C# client will not be available.

It means that there is no other client ....
