vCenter converter traffic

HI,

I have many sites here and I need to convert a physical server into a VM at one of the remote sites. I have a vCenter Converter installed here. I am curious how the conversion traffic flows. That is, does the conversion traffic flows directly from the source physical server to the helper VM? I'd like make sure there is minimum traffic between the remote site and here where vCenter converter is installed.

Hi,

You need to install vCenter converter to the dedicated machine having separate vLAN configured and which is tagged with other vLAN so it can communicate with other network. So traffic may flow to dedicate network.  You may need to get suggestion from your network team to allocate separate and dedicated bandwidth to converter machine if your network is not configured separately for conversion.
