I'm using ESXi 6.5.
vCenter *1
ESXi *2
I have connected two ESXi in vCenter. I restarted ESXi-1 last week. After that the vCenter cannot connect the ESXi-1.
vCenter IP address 138.14.0.9
ESXi-1 IP: 10.10.254.35
ESXi-2 IP: 10.10.254.34
ESXi-2 is worked. But ESXi-1 not responding.
This is the error message. By the way, I tried to use Veritas Backup Exec to conncet ESXi-1. But it showed "cannot connect to the ESXi"
I can login to 10.10.254.35 directly.
[Question]
How to fix this problem?
Did you tried to restart the Management agents in ESXi?
You can do that from the ESXi console or log in to ESXi with ssh and do:
/etc/init.d/hostd restart
/etc/init.d/vpxa restart
I followed your procedure. But the result was the same.
Hello CcfroG,
Good morning.
I think you might be having a network connection problem.
lets try this:
Thank you.
Hello EricChigoz
1. I can ssh to 138.14.0.9 and 10.10.254.35
2. vCenter and ESXi-1 are using the same DNS. So they can explain each other
3. The network didn't have any problem. vCenter can connect to 10.10.254.34 . And ping test showed me there's no problem.
4. I have tried disconnect and add it again. But it seems not work.
Please confirm if this is production or test?
if you have restarted the host and management agents and still no head way maybe you would need to restart the hosts completely and lets see what happens when it comes up.
/etc/init.d/hostd restart
/etc/init.d/vpxa restart
I will restart it tonight. Reply you later.
This is production. But I use to test.
