Does anyone now how to delete an unattached datastore from vCenter? I've got a NFS datastore that at one point was attached to all my hosts, but became unattached over time somehow. Now I'd like to reattach it, but every time I go to do that, the wizard just sits and spins. If there was a way to delete it out of the vCenter, I could just add it as a new one...but there's no option to delete it. Does anyone know how to force it out of vCenter? I'm trying to avoid having to go to each host an mount it via CLI.
Probably you have a snapshot of a VM or ISO mounted to a VM from this datastore which isn't allowing to remove this datastore. Find that VM and make corrections. You can use RVTools to identify that VM.
First connect to vCenter server with
connect-viserver servername -protocol https
Run below command and check what your datastore contains. If there is anything first remove them and then try to remove datastore.
Get-datastore datastoreaneme | Get-VM
