Hi folks,
I did an upgrade from 6.7U3 to 7.0 using Lifecycle Manager (fka VUM).
I checked beforehand that all my hardware is still supported and found that my Cisco UCSC RAID SAS 2008M-8i is indeed supported.
https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=io&productid=36260
I double checked the PCI vendor and device IDs (VID 1000, DID 0073, SVID 1137, SSID 00b0)
A warning is issued that the device may be unsupported in future version but update installs OK.
the driver supporting this card natively was "megaraid_sas" in 6.7U3, in 7.0 it is "lsi_mr3".
Any ideas why the storage adapter is not appearing anymore?
Regards
Johannes
Update:
So far I found that the card is listed as compatible in the VMware Compatibility Guide, but not actually listed in the map for the lsi_mr3 module
[root@esxi03:~] cat /etc/vmware/default.map.d/lsi_mr3.map | grep 10000073
regtype=native,bus=pci,id=1000007310281f4e......,driver=lsi_mr3
regtype=native,bus=pci,id=1000007310281f50......,driver=lsi_mr3
regtype=native,bus=pci,id=1000007310281f51......,driver=lsi_mr3
regtype=native,bus=pci,id=1000007310281f52......,driver=lsi_mr3
regtype=native,bus=pci,id=1000007310281f53......,driver=lsi_mr3
For good measure I enabled and loaded the module, but to no avail

I'm having the same problem with the same controller. Did you find a resolution? Is a RAID card upgraded needed?
I'm also having the same exact issue and I've also upgraded FW via the latest Cisco HUU 3.0.4q which is packaged with LSI 20.13.1-0255.
Any help?
What was your outcome?
