host scans fail

when trying to scan hosts in maintenance mode I receive the following error in my logs and the scans fail

VMware Update manager? - I would start with ensuring DNS (nslookup) is working on both VC and VUM

What is the error message with which it fails?

What is the update manager version and your ESXi host version?
