Windows Server wont boot

Hi everybody.

Im having a strange problem.

Setup:

Brand new installation of vSphere 6.7 and vCenter 6.7..

Updated vCenter to newest version and afterwards vSphere.

Configures iSCSI, Vlans, Kernals..

Everything is running and no warnings.

I install a Windows 2016 and 2019 server (default with GUI) + VMware tools.

Error:

I restart each of the VMs several times with no issue.

Then suddently one of the Windows servers hangs at startup, showing the Windows Logo, but no progress indication.

After 1-2 hours the server suddently shows the progress indicator for 10 secs and boots into Windows, like nothing happend.

Eventlog has no error or warnings.

I've tried reproducing the same issue on Hyper-V but it works fine there.

Any suggestions on how to debug this?

Hmm! Not so sure, the KB suggests that this symptom should be fixed in later versions of vSphere.

StephenMoll​ i dont think so, as this also happens if the VM has been shutdown for several hours, and we're running newest VM hardware version and vSphere.
