Hello guys
I need your knowledge.
First of all some stats:
ESXi and vCenter are running the latest version 7.
The ESXi is a 2 Socket machine; 14 pCores per Socket and has 768GB RAM (384GB per Socket).
This should result in 2 NUMA nodes, each 14 pCPU (48 vCPU) and 384GB RAM. Am I correct?
My virtual Machine is a Server 2019, 12 CPU and 24GB RAM. Configured as 1 Socket 12 CPU in vSphere.
I am wondering now that the ressource montior of Server 2019 shows 2 NUMA nodes with 6CPU each.
And and it seems that only the 6CPUs NUMA node 0 running at 100& CPU and the CPUs of NUMA node 1 are almost at idle.
Why is that?
Should'nt the VM be placed by the ESXi into one NUMA Node?
CPU wise and RAM wise it should fit.
Is it the MS OS that splits the CPUs to 2 NUMA nodes?
Thanks for your opinion
