In case of SAN restore snapshot is required. I wanted to know reasons behind this requirement. Since with SAN restore we would be writing to base disk and at the end of restore we need to revert and delete snapshot. What if restore fails in between can we go back to before restore state? (failed restore operation modified base disks before it failed so wondering how would this work?) Thoughts?
