Why does a vm with 70 GB Hard Drive configured on a thin provisioned nfs volume show much different metrics for provisioned and used.

I have a vm with two disks. One is configured at 30 GB and the other at 40 GB.  It is on a thinly provisioned volume.

When I look at the vm from the storage view i see the following

NameStateStatusProvisioned SpaceUsed Space
comdev1Powered OnNormal195.02  GB151.23  GB

I'm trying to understand how provisioned space and used space can exceed the size of the attached disks and they are not even close to being consumed.

Any help understanding this would be appreciated.

I am running vSphere 6.5 update 1 with NFS mounted datastores.

Hi,

Did you check any snapshot running in this VM?

Okay, I feel stupid.

I didn't note some other disks in the settings.

The numbers make sense now.  Thanks for the response.

I suppose you missed the "Other disks" section.
