We are seeing latency while backing up using Veeam.

The latency is due to Veeam backups and I am not sure how I can cut down the latency. Veeam has some processes that can be set in order to fix this, but I am not sure what else I can look from the VSphere side in order to finetune the latency issues on the datastore. I clearly know it is due to backups and also it is from the datastore read operation. There is a video below which has helped from the Veeam side. Since, the backup is being performed by another person, he is not sharing much to work with.

Hi,

Veeam does support various of backup transport modes. First you must know, which backup transport mode is using.

Also Veeam supporting "Storage Snapshot", if your storage array has this feature and storage array is compatible with Veeam, you can use it. Storage Snapshot will offers I/O offloading on VI.

And you’ve posted this on Veeam’s own forum presumably…?
