VUM stuck at 50% scanning virtual appliance

I'm planning an upgrade of 4 ESXi 5.1 hosts to 6.0. When I try to download the patches in to VUM it hangs at 50%. I read a couple of other threads that highlight the need to fill in vApp Options to resolve this.

My problem is that of the 2 VMs that have vApp Options enabled, 1 is mostly filled out (Dell Equallogic manager) and the other is totally blank. Its a Trend Micro IWSVA appliance and I cant find the details anywhere of what should be populated in vApp options. I tried to disable the vApp options but got a warning about virtual service dependencies being removed if I did so ... so I didn't.

On the VUM server in the "VMware-vum-server-log" I can see a lot of entries for the following:

"timed out while acquiring the lock for vm-1967"

I have no Idea how to identify what VM-1967 is. I ran ESXTOP on all hosts but it doesn't seem to match up with any world IDs.

I'm out of ideas. The only thing I can think of now is just start the upgrade and bring the vcenter and VUM up to version 6.0 and see if that resolves it.
